Jamaica's tropical climate means warm weather year-round, but knowing when to go can save you money and get you better weather. Peak season (December–April) brings perfect beach days and premium prices. Off-season (May–November) offers deals but comes with rain and hurricane risk.
This is Jamaica at its best — minimal rainfall, comfortable temperatures (75–85°F), and calm Caribbean waters. It's also the most expensive time with the largest crowds. Book at least 3 months ahead. Montego Bay and Negril are especially busy.
The sweet spot. Good weather, lower prices, and fewer tourists. May brings the start of the rainy season but showers are usually brief. November offers great deals before the Christmas rush.
Lowest prices of the year — up to 40% off peak rates. Hurricane season peaks August–September, so travel insurance is recommended. Southern coast (Treasure Beach, Portland) gets less rain than the north.
