# Mykonos Travel Guide: Beach Clubs & Sunset Spots
Mykonos is the most glamorous of the Greek islands — a maze of whitewashed streets, windmills, and beach clubs that attract the world's jet set. But beyond the party scene, there's a quieter, more authentic side.
The main town is a deliberate labyrinth — the narrow streets were designed to confuse pirates. Today they confuse hungover tourists, which is almost as effective. Get lost on purpose. Wander past blue-domed churches, bougainvillea-draped balconies, and designer boutiques.
**Little Venice** — waterfront buildings with balconies hanging over the sea. Sunset drinks here are mandatory. Caprice Bar is the classic choice; Kastro's is slightly less crowded.
**Windmills of Kato Mili** — The island's most photographed spot. Go at golden hour for the shot. Five whitewashed windmills on a hill overlooking the sea.
- **Paradise Beach** — The original party beach. Tropicana and Cavo Paradiso clubs run all day and night
- **Super Paradise** — Slightly more upscale, still rowdy. Jackie O' beach club is the anchor
- **Psarou** — The see-and-be-seen beach. Nammos restaurant turns into a champagne-spraying party by 3pm
- **Agios Sostis** — Untouched, no beach clubs, no sunbeds. Bring water and an umbrella
- **Fokos** — Remote northern beach with a single taverna. The anti-Paradise
A 30-minute ferry to the uninhabited island of Delos — one of Greece's most important archaeological sites. The birthplace of Apollo and Artemis according to mythology. The Terrace of the Lions and the mosaic floors are extraordinary. Morning boats only (no shade, no services).
- **Kiki's Taverna** (Agios Sostis) — No electricity, no phone, no reservations. Grilled fish under a vine canopy. Worth the wait
- **Alegro** (Chora) — Family-run since 1975. The moussaka is the best on the island
- **Bakalo** — Hidden in Chora's backstreets. Modern Greek small plates
Mykonos is expensive. Beach clubs charge €30-50 for sunbeds. Cocktails are €15-20. Dinner for two with wine easily hits €100+. Budget travelers should stay in Platys Gialos or Ornos (cheaper than Chora) and eat at bakeries and souvlaki spots during the day.
