Ocho Rios Adventure Guide: Waterfalls, Rainforest & Beyond

Ocho Rios ("Ochi" to locals) is Jamaica's adventure hub. Located on the north coast, it's home to the famous Dunn's River Falls, lush rainforests, and some of the island's best excursions. Cruise ships dock here daily, so timing matters.

Jamaica's #1 attraction. This 180-foot terraced waterfall flows directly into the Caribbean Sea — one of the few waterfalls in the world that does. Join a human chain led by a guide and climb the falls. Takes about 90 minutes.

**Pro tip:** Arrive before 9am or after 3pm to avoid cruise ship crowds. Entry $25. Water shoes essential.

Rainforest adventure park with three main attractions: a bobsled ride (inspired by Jamaica's Olympic team), zip-lining through the canopy, and a sky explorer chairlift with panoramic views. Combo passes from $75.

A 15-minute drive from Ocho Rios, Blue Hole is a series of cascading pools and waterfalls hidden in the rainforest. Far less crowded than Dunn's River Falls. You can swim, jump from rocks (up to 20 feet), and explore caves. Local guides are mandatory and worth it ($10–$15 tip). Entry $15.
